I woke up today and was going to sign in and write a post about how Gabs and I were enjoying our Fall weather so far and then I received horrible news. My husband and I met a wonderful couple on vacation almost two and a half years ago while in Jamaica. They were so sweet and fun and we had a great time hanging out. They even came to my baby shower and till this day we still kept in touch via FB. I was so excited when I found out she was pregnant with their first child! Unfortunately, she went into premature labor today and her baby boy did not survive. It is such a cruel thing to have this life growing inside of you and then in an instant you are saying hello and goodboy to someone you love so much! My heart truly aches for them today. I know they would/are going to be wonderful parents!
So today I will be holding my little girl a little tighter and hugging her a little longer because this life can be taken away from you in an instant!

End of Summer Days
As the summer days are winding down, I am eagerly awaiting Fall. Usually, I am a summertime kind of gal but I can't help getting excited about apple and pumpkin picking, Halloween and of course Thanksgiving. I am getting ahead of myself it was 84 degrees today here in the NYC so I will not be breaking out the turtlenecks soon. However, I did take Gabs to Sesame Place last weekend so she could enjoy the water for the last time and my God, I gave birth to a fish! She takes to the water like a duck to a pond and this makes momma happy :-)
I also took her to see some of her favorite characters she likes to watch on Nick Jr. Brobee, Foofa, Dora and Diego were at White Post Farms/Animal Farm in Long Island. She loves going there and girlfriend has no fear of the animals or the characters.
New Hobbies
1. I need to stop watching Top Chef Just Desserts 2. I need to stop going to Bakarella.com. I am not a baker by any means but lately I have been wanting to try and make everything. I started browsing sites just to look for things for Gabriella's 2nd birthday party and I came across Cake Pops which is now my new obsession. I made them for the first time last month and suprisingly they tasted delicious and did not look half bad. I also did some Dora Cupcakes while my two nieces Kassandra and Samantha were at my house. I am practicing now so when Gabby's birthday comes around, I can do them myself and also when Gabby wants to start baking with me she willl be in total awe of my skills :-).

NYC Day
Today was a fairly quite day. However, it was one of those beautiful NYC days (not disguntingly hot and just the right amount wind). I love these days and wish there were more like them. My husband and I decided to walk around the city today. I decided not to bring my camera this time because 1. I didn't want to lug around with it and 2. I just wanted to take everything in without having to "document" everything. I did regret not bringing it though because we went over to the Chelsea Market and I wanted to take pics of it since I've never been.
My little girl did do the cutest thing today (besided throwing my cell phone into the garbage). I bathed her and got her ready for bed and a few minutes later I hear her saying "Peek a Boo." I looked at her and here she was moving her Glow Worms hands over her dolls eye and removing them when she said "Peek a Boo." I adore that girl!

Summer....
Eeeek, the last time I posted an entry was back in May. Gosh, I am really bad this blogging business lol. Anyway, Gabs is growing so fast and knows way too muc for her own good! There is never a dull moment with her that is for sure! She is talking up a storm (which I love). I tell my husband she is like a sponge; just soaking EVERYTHING UP!
We've been having a scorcher of a summer here in NYC, but that just allows us more fun water activities :-). We've been going to Sesame Place (one of Gabs favorites), Hurrican Harbor, neighborhood parks, beach etc. The little diva even went on a cruise to Bermuda back in June with some other family members. I get so much joy watching her have a great time. Sometimes I wish I can freeze every moment in time, every single "mommy", every single hug or cuddle just so I could look back on it one day and remember the same feeling over and over. One of my biggest fears is not being able to remember how she was when she was a baby or a toddler. I don't want any memory to escape my mind. I adore this girl and it surprises me everyday how much love I can have for this person who has only blessed me for 16 months with her presence. I just hope I make her proud of her mommy. A word that she says over and over and over. Yes, she is a total mommy's girl and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Here are some pics from our trip to Bermuda! Gab's had a great time and she experienced the beach for the first time :-)

She turned 1!
The last time I posted my daughter was just one day shy of turning 1 year old. One day shy of becoming ........TODDLER! While that word made me said just thinking about my little baby not being a baby anymore, this toddler phase is just as awesome. She is learing so much, speaking and just getting into everything!
I have to say even though I am biased that my little girl is freaking awesome! Besides not sleeping through the night or at all for that matter (we are working on that) I feel ridiculously blessed with such a great kid!
I may have to start planning her 2nd Birthday party now because seriously these things are so dang stressful!
